This weekend’s festivities began at PRC this weekend with the sounds of Soca coming from the Club and the visiting Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club football players intended on enjoying in on the event.

Rather than receiving a warm welcome, bystanders witnessed the claims by unknown persons stating “if anything happens we are going to box them and kick them down.”

Dwayne Caines was not available to make any comment on the situation.

Colin Steward was forced to lead the front without the likes of trustee Woody or Barker in the line ups as the team was well prepared to do battle despite the conditions at the front lawn.

Hamilton Parish players were brave in their efforts and decided to proceed with their sanctioned event despite the reputation that the Prospect outfit had been leaving the rest of the league in carnage.

Reggie rallied his troops with confidence and was able to gain some momentum against the run of play giving the Hamilton Parish supporters some hope.

Police had other intentions as the league title is still the main focus of the group.

Ecuadorian International player did some work down the left hand side of the pitch and released the front runners on several occasions allowing Stewart the opportunity of opening the scoring within the first half.

The Jamaican striker was able to double his tally after latching on the floaters from David shortly after and extend his lead in the game and on the scoring charts.

Hamilton Parish put up some resistance was able to score against the run of play before the end of the first half at prospect 2 Hamilton Parish 1.

The second half reflected the first with deploring conditions at the field in heavy rain, wind and Police running ability at the Hamilton back line the peppers began to unfold.

Talbot joined in at the scoring as he was able to run through the mid field creating chance after chance and then finishing his run with a well rewarded effort.

Police rotated their reserves to the front line as they are known to do and now with the likes of Clarke and Cat on the field it seemed to be a Jamaican affair as all the Jamaican attackers scored in their efforts.

Devonshire Colts vs Prospect Police

Devonshire Derby

The Prospect Police Football Team entered the New Year break as arguably the hottest team in the League.

Prospect United elevated their point streak with a win over the Lions, and much of the success this season can be attributed to the total team effort amongst every forward line and defensive pairing.

This weeks activities saw the Devonshire tenants set to derby as they entered the PRC arena as the home team.

From the whistle Randy Barker displayed football class as he decisively slid through the Devonshire defensive line up and slotted home the opening goal in the 5th minute of play.

Devonshire Colts started their campaign as a frustrated group of individuals as they were being run at by the likes of Colin Stewart in the front line.

Referee Germano Botelho urged his team on and was revered as a 12th man on the pitch for his alumni.

Captain Tracy Adams had a game plan of his own as he continued to supply his front runners with a quick one two passing game that the likes of Jamaican International Chris Miles from the Bernard’s Park football ground was unable to withstand the intense pressure in his new surroundings.

With the wind at their back the Prospect team pressed forward at goal and just as they launched their attack the referee began blowing the whistle at will disallowing any attack to manifest.

Play was haulted after the Devonshire forwards had their pass picked off by the Prospect defensive that Goalkeeper Scott smothered off the 6 yard box that the referee called for intentional back pass to the amazement of both the teams at the Prospect grounds.

With dying seconds in the first half Colts swung in a Hail Mary cross that the keeper seeming would have handled easily but the Devonshire forward Moniz drove in head first kamikaze style and headed off the inside of the past what turned out to be game equalizer.

The referee quickly blew the whistle before Prospect could return the favor.

Both teams entered half at one a piece with the Devonshire outfit becoming increasing agitated as they were being run at the entire half.

The second half began the same as the first with Chris Thompson rotating his team into second half formation.

Just as the first half the Devonshire Colts referee continued blowing the whilst in mystery fashion disallowing Police any chance of completing an attack.

Colin Stewart rose to the occasion and latched on to a right footed full volley that sliced off his laces across the face of the goal mouth.

Devonshire Colts began arguing freely and tried the halt any attack with abusive and threatening behavior. With the center midfielder being quoted as saying.”…im going to knock somebody out today”….

Police maintained their diligence continued playing their passing game through the fresh switches with Warren Reid and Hosane Clarke.

The referee substituted himself with one the Colts players and just as Prospect launched another attack the whistle blew again as referee reduced Prospect to 10 men for a gesture unseen by anyone.

With adversity mounting the Police team stood steadfast and played a fair match and was able maintain their integrity amongst the leaders in the Bermuda Football Association Maters League.

Devonshire Lions vs Prospect Police

At 3:25 p.m. this afternoon Echo 11 Unit descended on the Devonshire Lions Den in confrontation to their frustrated efforts of being restrained at the Devonshire Club.

Match Commissioner Evens watched from the helm of the action in front of her.

Tracy Adams was well prepared with an unbeatable outfit of well rounded international officers.

Defensive midfielder Wally was unable to contain the running ability of Prospects Woody and Philgence.

Devonshire front line was able to run but was not able to hide from the Bajan Invasion in the defensive unit.

English international struck first with blistering run past the defenders in the penalty box and went one on one with the keeper and tucked the ball into the corner pocket of the goal to begin the proceedings.

The Devonshire Club began warming up their substitutes as they had been known to do after recently acquiring the services of the Wolves masters team in the New Year transfer window in order to strengthen their attack.

But woody was not to be denied as he celebrated his second goal of the game with the score now at Woody 2 Devonshire Lions Recreation Club 0.

Devonshirians looked on in amassment as David attempted an over head bicycle kick that was partially blocked and he continued his effort and slotted home the third goal of the game.

Though the Lions fought with heart they were being out maneuvered and outplayed the visiting team which rose their frustration as Dennis lashed out at Dennie bringing a halt to the game allowing him and his team mates a chance to catch a breather.

When the play continued so did the Prospect goal tally with Woody able to clinch his hat trick in the first half of the game.

Devonshire’s playmaker Corey provided a through ball that the striker latched onto and forced Lawrence Scott into action as he palmed the attempt away from goal diving to his left.

But Colin Stewart made no mistake and took his chance to seal the first half Devonshire 0 Prospect 5.

Both team reentered the pitch with mixed emotions since the last time these two teams met at this venue the score was same at half time and Devonshire Lions were  able to come up with a come from behind run away victory.

This time Chris Thompson was not going to let go of his lead as he rotated his bench likewise and in which the Devonshire outfit was forced to grab on and hold on to the Prospect players in exhaustion forcing the referee to blow the whistle for a penalty.

Hosan Clark was released onto the pitch causing havoc down the right flank and provided Chris Thompson with added arsenal in the front line.

Play was halted once again as Devonshire players were being outrun and had to muscle down their opponents in order to stay in the game.

Pearman was able score a good goal with good work from Corey in the middle of the field putting Devonshire on the scoring board.

With the deficit growing Devonshire Lions with the pitch out of gas and rendered the visiting team 3 games 3 defeats in the season and catapulting Prospect back to the top of the league.

Prospect Police 4 Pembroke Hamilton Club 3

This weeks controversy erupted at Police Recreation Club Headquarters when multitudes of PHC supporters watched from the embankment the Police force run over their entrusted players at Headquarters Hill in Devonshire.

PHC left the Warwick club this morning with confidence as they were manned with the likes of Mango Lightborne in the forward attack.

PHC were stunned as usual as trhey were unable to stop the attack of Woody and Jamaican International Stewart in the front line and Samual vigorously protetested as he was amazed how diffulcult the game became for his traveling outfit.

Mango Lightbourne was gifted a lucky bounce around the back of the prospect defensive and slotted home the ice breaker from the penalty spot against the run of play.

Stephen Dennie sent a looping ball into the opponents penalty box that Colin Steward was able to control, shake his defender and line up a shot at goal when he was brought down in a desperation attempt by the defense and was awarded a penalty kick from the spot to which the PHC contingency again protested bring a halt the run of play that the Prospect leading goal scorer converted into the corner pocket.

Sherwin Ming was not to be stopped easily as he latched on to a bouncing ball at the top of the box and volleyed a right footed effort into the pigeon which left the keeper no chance as he celebrated with his teammates.

David entered the arena having scored a goal per game since his return to the club and once again chipped in a left footed slicer over the goalkeeper to even the score at the home club.

PHC muscled through the storm and was awarded several chances but it was the police who struck again with a deftifying run down the left flank by the English hinternation Woody at the center of the attack and fired home a missle past the PHC goalkeeper at the aeasern End of the field.

Both team entered the half at 3 – 2 and were both able to rotate their line up to close out the game.

The second half began with both teams battling for possession with new running ability. PHC brought on Andre Washington in the mid field and able to muster up and attack that was able to produce an equalizer that gave the ma psychological hope that they might receive a result.

St. Georges ALL Stars 3 Prospect Police 3

This afternoon the Police force expected business as usual on their routine drive around the island leaving most clubs dumbfounded by their visits.

Tracy Adams was again at middle of the scene with 10 trained protégés at the Wellington Slip road around 3:00 p.m.

Amidst frigid conditions with temperatures falling below 50 degrees the men soldiered on with their assignments with an all Barbadian defensive unit.

English international striker Woody was released first causing havoc as bystanders watched in amazement and eventually fired at shot across the face of the keeper.

The Ecuadorian Keeper began his Bermuda campaign at with the Police Unit but subsequently found himself against the Police attack to which officers felt no mercy.

Before Police could reload the Keeper lounged at Colin Steward feet first resulting in Chris Thompson being forced to blow the whistle and bring a stop to the argument and allowed the Jamaican international striker Stewart a spot kick from the penalty spot.

Both teams ended the half rethinking their coaches game plan as St. Georges had never been run at by any other team in the fashion they were up against at home.

Dell rallied his team mates and the St. Georges Club made 3 substitutes and was able to muster up 3 hard fought goals in a row erupting the stadium home supporters.

Police had seen it all before and made substitutes of their own bringing on Hosan Clarke and Warren Reid in the mid field.

St Georges toiled with life and hope but the link up attack of Woody and Steward was not to be denied with style and class and slotted home what ended up to be the game equalizer when the referee blew the final whistle with the game scored at St Georges 3 Police 3 in the Bermuda Football Association Masters League.

Prospect were without the likes of the ever present captain and talisman Tracy Adams and Jamaican international striker Steward, which saw Kevin Thompson a rare opportunity to start in the Prospect attack.

Devonshire came out of the starting blocks running with confidence and winds at theirs backs with some slick passing game and familiar attack from Corey and Nally in the Devonshire front line.

Prospect however struck first against the run of play when Woody ran through the Devonshire defensive line up and gave Thompson the opportunity to strike from the six yard box at the eastern end of the field to begin the proceedings.

Devonshire rallied back and decided not to let their traveling supporters down and executed a brilliant attack keeping the ball on the ground with precise one two passes causing havoc in the midfield of the pitch Weeks unleashing his strikers behind the defense enabling them to get on the score sheet.

Kevin Thompson matched their efforts and was able to score at will as Otis was forced to make diving saves a record amount of times to keep his team in the game.

Both teams entered the half at 6 -5 meaning both teams needed to dig deeper in order to secure a their sides victory.

Reggie was able to send diagonal crosses into the police penalty box with some effect as they took the lead early in the second half giving them a psychological confidence in their ability and allowing their substitute a run at goal.

But Chris Thompson had seen it all before and laced up his boots and entered the pitch to one intention of retaking he lead and ending the game with never seen before agility and unprecedented playing style the Lions were unable to contain the Prospect attack and the referee blew the whistle with the score board reading Prospect 8 Devonshire 7 solidifying their place at the top of the Masters League and booking their spot in the Concacaf region.

Both teams entered the half after an exhausting effort from both camps with Social club trailing by 2 goals to the good.

Despite the link up play from Butterflied in the front line and Kio supplying through balls the Prospect’s defense were too organized and disciplined to allow the Bluebirds a clean look at goal.

The suspense was delivered a serious blow when Jamaican international midfielder Warren Reid sliced through the defensive line and slotted home a daisy cutter into the corner pocket of the Social Club goal posts giving the keeper no chance and catapulting the Devonshire outfit to the top of the league tables establishing themselves as the most ruthless and merciless championship contenders in the CONCACAF region.
