This afternoon the 3rd seeded Echo 11 Unit arrived in the police bus at Devonshire Recreation Club ready to battle with top seeded Flanagan’s Onions football club to face each other in the title race for the Master League division.

Prospect United wasted no time and struck first in the first half which set the tone for the rest of the evening on a ideal ground for playing football with mild temperatures and minimal breeze.

This match finally saw the return of Jonathan Wood Prospect Unite top scorer in the previous season however to everyone surprised however he was playing against the Police outfit and along side Flanagan’s which only made the day seem that much longer.

Police found their range and struck again doubling their lead and pulling the game away from the league leaders.

Flanagan’s found hope their long time striker Kez with a bicycle kick into the top pigeon leaving Keeper Scott no chance giving them a chance to get out of the starting blocks.

Both teams went into the half at Flanagan’s 1 Prospect 2 with both team having a hard look at their benchmen.

Flanagan’s played the second half with 3 strikers occupying the front line and Prospect made crucial changes as well.

Prospect Jamaican attack produced sublime sequencing and finishing play with Stewart and Miller.

Flanagan’s muscled their way back into the game however Stewart found an overhead volley of his own that sent the Police unit back into the game that they were not planning on letting go.

With little time left in the game Prospects wingmen sent missiles in the penalty box that Steward was able to slip past the keeper and regain the lead and ended the contest Flanagan’s Onions 4 Prospect United 5 and revitalizing their 2020 Masters League campaign.

The Hon. Scott Lawrence said at the game “If they wanted something for free they should ask Santa.”

Jamaica Observer, Montego Bay – Jamaica – Goals by Jordaine Fletcher, his first at the senior national level, and Kemmar Beckford carried Jamaica to a 2-0 win over Bermuda in their international friendly at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Wednesday (March 11).
Fletcher opened the scoring in the 42nd minute before Beckford added the second in the 80th minute. Both scorers are teammates at the St Ann based Mt Pleasant Football Academy.
Despite the result both coaches were pleased with the performances of their respective teams as they used to game to assess mostly home based squads with an eye on the future.
Fletcher who was making a return to the senior line-up after a number of years out of the team, beat Bermuda’s goalkeeper Tahj Bell with a left footer from the top of the 18 yards box. Fletcher should have scored a second a minute later but he missed the target by inches.
Beckford added the second 10 minutes before the end of regulation time when he side-footed home a cross from Kemal Malcolm from the left flank that beat the Bermuda defence.
