Somerset fight back Police at SCC

This afternoon the Echo 11 Police bus arrived at Somerset Cricket Club to settle the issue in west end after clearing out all competition in the east in the masters league division. Dexter Hunt captained his team and met Dion Stovell in the center of the pitch to discuss to dual with the match commissioner watching from the top porch.

Police won the toss and elected to center off first giving them the running advantage against the sunlight.

Somerset struck first with and stroke of luck as Twin Wade ran behind the back line and slotted home the first goal of the game.

Police would not be denied and leading goal scorer Colin Stewart fired home a low daisy cutter into the corner pocket of the goal giving Keeper Bull no chance.

Both teams entered the half with the score of Somerset 1 Police 1.

Henry was summons from the bench and Police did as Police do and took the lead in the second half of the game with striker Clarke chipping the keeper and silencing the home crowd.

Twin Wade decided to join his brother on the score sheet and equalized the match at 2-2 with a  good play in front of goal.

Play halted after claims of high kicking by Somerset and an offside appeal to which Dion Stovell finished the play and struck home a volley from the 6 yard box ending the game in controversial manner Somerset 3 – Police 2.
