Prospect United vs Young Mens Social Club

This afternoon 10 man Prospect United were able to defeat a fully equipment Young mans Social Club 3 -2 at the Police headquarters amist their prepartion for the Police Games in China this year.

Police found themselves deeply depleted from the long season without the likes or their tallysmen Jonathan Wood and Colin Steward whom proved to be the most successful striking partnership in the league as well as Stephen Dennie and Dexter Hunt were unavailable leaving the Vincentian captain Randy Barker to task to control the game from the mid field.

Head Coach Chris Thompson readied his boots for the occasion knowing his playing abilities would be the decisive factor on the outcome of the affair left to run the front line alone.

Social Club started the game off full of confidence with Marshall Iris leading their forward line with Hall of Fame awardee Eric Dunkley having acquired the most goals in Social Clubs history.

Prospect started the game with Chris Thompson at the fore front supplying his team with vicious through balls allowing his team the ability to run at goal in the early stages of the game.

Social crossed the line first when a back heel caused the keeper to switch direction and was unable to reach the ball on time.

Prospect had seen it all before and were able to complete their task with captain Randy Barker holding the ball up and delivering slicing passes across the Social Club back line allow Striker Thompson  to convert equalizing the game and adding to his goal streak of 5 goals in his lat 5 games on the trot.

Both teams entered the half leaving everything on the field and reentered with a fresh approach to the afternoon strategy.

Fellow Jamaican Hosan Clarke was slotted in the front line and didn’t disappoint linking up with Chris Thompson nicely and finished from the 6 yard line and taking the lead in the game.

Clarke’s running ability would not let him down as he able to double his tally and put the game out of reach from the traveling Social Club outfit.

Social would not let the old lady sing just yet as Wrench sent in a cross that looped in the breeze and ended up in the back of the net on the wind swept field.

Both teams rallied back and forth for the remainder of the game but the evening was going o be Prospects and referee Steven Dennie blew his whistle and ended the game Prospect 3 – Social Club 2
