This afternoon Master League Champions Prospect United traveled across country to meet Erk Daniels and Jerome Laws’ St. Georges outfit headed by coach Herbie Bascome in the second game of the afternoons double header at Wellington Oval.
St. Georges were equipped with the likes of Kentione Jennings who is regarded as one of Bermuda’s best international players stated Bascome before the game. “Kentione Jennings is probably the best center halves Bermuda has ever seen not just for North Village and Bermuda National team but also in his time in England playing amongst the best in the world.” Jennings coincidently was acquired by Bascome in the transfer marker from Prospect United were he spent 6 seasons as the player/coach.
Prospect United were equipped with a decorated roster of their own studding an international squad of players with Robin Evans touching down from abroad moments before the game start as well as both Colin Stewart and Jonathan Wood available for today’s proceedings.
St. Georges wasted no time and took advantage of the traveling Prospect United and struck home first in the opening minute of the game after a defensive slip up in the windy conditions and began the game with 1 – 0 lead through Flossy Pitcher recently acquired from St. Davids along with Aaron Lugo and Detroy Pitcher to solidify the St. Georges attack.
