Road to China

This afternoon Hamilton Parish Workman’s club hosted current league champions Prospect United at St. Davids field in an eventful episode of drama and sport.

Prospect United began their run on the road the China where they will be representing Bermuda in the World Police games.

Hamilton Parish took an early lead on a windswept pitch capitalizing on the wind at their backs and manged to squeeze a shot past Keeper Scott boosting their chances of winning the game.

Prospect did what they do best and allowed Jonny Talbot the freedom to run at goal as he qualified the game game in the 31st minute with a solo run up the middle dancing across the keeper and slotting his narrow shot into the far post side netting.

Hamilton Paris were determined to better their draw result this round and were able to score before the end of the first half with their striker doubling his scoring by way of a controversial penalty kick.

Both teams entered the half with fresh reserves and both teams utilized them to full effect.

With the wind advantage now shifted against Hamilton Parish they had to make an extra effort to run at Police and that they did with their striker completing his hat trick and adding to the lead of the game.

Unfortunately for Hamilton Parish Police had seen it all before and launched their ruthless second half attack on the East enders with Shane Simmons arriving at the spot and crossing the ball over the goal line to start the come back.

Any attack Peppers mustered up was extinguished and Police quickly pinned their opponents in their half of the field cutting off their playing time and took shots at their goal, with striker Dennis causing commotion in and around the penalty area.

Police quickly equalized and began launching a violent attack on the club causing the Hamilton parish referee to suddenly call an end to the game before the inevitable finishing the match Hamilton Parish 3 Prospect United 3.
