This afternoon travelling Prospect United met St. George’s All Stars in the opening game at 1300 hours. All Stars had acquired key signings in the off season with the now defunct Devonshire All Stars. Dell Tyrell was at his best this afternoon after his warm up cycling before game. Coincidently English national Jonathan Wood was equally up to his task on opposite end of the field.

Former Social Club stalwart Rappar was at the center of the action immediately granting St. Georges a cheap free kick in the opening on top of the 18 yard box to Dell Tyrell stepped up to the plate and pitched the ball into the top pigeon of the Prospect goal.

Moments later the champions displayed class as they sliced the St Georges back line to which Dexter hall volleyed the ball into net after a keeper blocked the ball with his first attempt. Nevertheless the referee disallowed the goal and kept the score at 0-1

With the officiating in the St. Georges corner Prospect had dig deep to which Jonathan Wood came into mid field and turned on a dime and cut across midfielders and stepped over and past the defenders and rifled the ball into the corner pocket of the St. Georges goal leaving the keeper no chance equally the score to which the referee could find no reason to disallow on this occasion.

With the support the referee St Georges was able to win the majority of the calls which may have aided in their 2 goal of the half. But again Robin Evans fired a bullet into back of net from close range equaling the score to the end the half.

Both teams felt the heat of the day amidst a high paced game play.

With the strong winds St. Georges began shoveling hail Marys for Del Tryell to chase down over and over in the second half. to which were able to run away with the game in the remaining minutes of the contest.
