This years annual Grimes Invitational Tournament kicked off with a cracking start to the season at Headquarters Hill in Prospect this afternoon featuring all the top teams from the over 30s Master’s League.

St Georges Stallions and North Village Rams found their ways through the group stages into the final event for this year curtain raiser.

The North Village Rams were crowned the Gregory Grimes Memorial Champions after they defeated the defending champions St. George’s Stallions 2 – 0 in the Final.

Six teams were involved in the 2018 edition including the Stallions, the Rams, Somerset Extros, PHC Raiders, St. George’s All-Stars and Prospect.

In Group action the Somerset Extros defeated the Stallions 2 – 0, but the Stallions would bounce back to win their second games defeating Prospect United 4-0. The final match in the group saw Prospect edge the Somerset Extros 2 – 1.

In the other Group the North Village Rams defeated the PHC Raiders 3 – 2, the PHC Raiders defeated the St. George’s All-Stars 2 – 1 and then the North Village Rams defeated the St. George’s All-Stars 2 – 0.

North Village Rams player Aaron Williams was named the Man of the Tournament.
