North Village 5 Prospect United 1
This afternoon # 1 Prospect United entered the North Village arena to face #5 North Village Rams as the referee was the highlight of the afternoon making a name for himself as he supported his club to the fullest.
Prospect began their game plan with Tracy Adams tightening up his gloves and donning the goalkeeper jersey with Hunt and Allen in the middle of the pitch.
Viewers watched closely as Shervin Jennings returned from his loan spell at Young Mans Social Club and supplied the loft over the Prospect defense allowing Village to open the scoring with a good play.
It seemed as though after that every attack North Village made ended up in a foul or a penalty kick.
First up after softest of tackles the referee began to exercise his whistling skills.
Nakia Smith step up to the spot and slotted home a right footed instep in right corner pocket.
Prospect did as Prospect do best and released their front runners on diagonal runs allowing English international striker Woody the opportunity of completing a full volley across the face of goal and struck the inside of the post and into the back of goal leaving the keeper with no chance.
Both teams entered the pitch at 2-1 with woody’s goal giving the traveling unit a life line and keeping their title hopes alive in the Bermuda Masters League.
The second half began with a similar theme to the first with the referee blowing his whistle at will and consistently pointing in the same direction.
The North Village attacker seemed to have hurdled his defender and was not able to keep on his feet therefore allowing the referee to call for another penalty kick to which Nakia Smith slotted home into the left corner pocket.
15 minutes later Prospect realized that luck was not going to be on their sides today with any of the decisions as the referee again blew his whistle for another penalty kick giving Nakia Smith the opportunity of completing his hattrick.
With time running out and fatigue setting in the referee blew his favorite whistle near the edge of the penalty spot with Nakia Smith passed of his lances to Pacman at the back post which he shot into the roof of the Police goal ending the game North Village 5 Prospect 1.
