Prospect Police 4 YMSC 0
This afternoon’s Masters league saw visiting Social Club enter the Police Arena with hopes of doing a battle against title contenders Prospect Police Football Club in windy conditions at Headquarters Hill.
Prospect’s captain Tracy Adams won the toss and decided to start the proceedings running at the Eastern end of the field.
Prospect struck first with 6 yard strike from English international Woody creating panic and confusion in the Social Club backline resulting in the referee calling an own goal giving Prospect a1 -0 lead in the 15th minute of the first half.
Social Club’s attack force kicked into high gear when Talls Dunkley was able perform his trade mark pivot spin shot at the Barbados international keeper who was luckily able to control the ball keeping his side in the game with a clean sheet.
Before long Prospect was able to withstand the early pressure and was able to extend their lead with a few minutes left in the first half when Ecuadorian signing scored his second goal in his second game back from the transfer market this opening season on his second stint with the club with a looping effort that evaded the Social Club goal keeper.
Both teams entered the half after an exhausting effort from both camps with Social club trailing by 2 goals to the good.
Despite the link up play from Butterflied in the front line and Kio supplying through balls the Prospect’s defense were too organized and disciplined to allow the Bluebirds a clean look at goal.
The suspense was delivered a serious blow when Jamaican international midfielder Warren Reid sliced through the defensive line and slotted home a daisy cutter into the corner pocket of the Social Club goal posts giving the keeper no chance and catapulting the Devonshire outfit to the top of the league tables establishing themselves as the most ruthless and merciless championship contenders in the CONCACAF region.
