[Updating] Fans made their way to the National Sports Centre as Bermuda and Barbados  matched up in an international friendly football game at 8.00pm this evening.

Bermuda’s starting lineup: Quinaceo Hunt, Casey Castle, Roger Lee, Jaylon Bather, Tre Ming, Donte Brangman, Zeiko Lewis, Willie Clemons, Dante Leverock, Marco Warren, and Reggie Lambe.

Update 10.00pm: Bermuda and Barbados played an international friendly football game at the National Sports Centre in front of a vocal and supportive crowd, with Barbados defeating Bermuda 3-2.

Bermuda’s starting lineup was Quinaceo Hunt, Casey Castle, Roger Lee, Jaylon Bather, Tre Ming, Donte Brangman, Zeiko Lewis, Willie Clemons, Dante Leverock, Marco Warren, and Reggie Lambe.

Barbados’ starting lineup was Jason Boxill, Shane Codrington, Ranaldo Bailey, Mario Williams, Mario Harte, Hadan Holligan, Zeco Edmee, Raheim Sergeant, Jomo Harris, Ricardo Morris, and Rashad Jules

Willie Clemons scored first to give Bermuda a 1-0 lead, and Jaylon Bather doubled the Bermuda lead when he scored a few minutes later, and Bermuda took the 2-0 lead into the half time break.

However, Barbados came out strong in the second half, and despite the best efforts of Bermuda’s team, the visitors scored three goals in the second half, including two very late goals, with the match ending 3-2.

Prospect 8 Hamilton Parish 2

Hamilton Parish Hot Peppers musters up enough confidence to face their opponents and arch rivals Prospect Police Club at the sanctioned event in St. David’s this afternoon. Hamilton Parish came out with their backs in the wind as they managed to organize an attack force that showed them so much success since the early 80’s and 90’s. Nevertheless they were no match for the newly formed police until which introduced a never seen before English attack that the Hot Peppers had no game plan for. Both teams entered the half at 1-1 but with the Police deep bench they were able to out run their opponents in the later stages of the match finishing the game 8-2.

Somerset supports were stunned at the firepower and speed of the Police outfit at the Silver City Stadium this afternoon which saw the Police end the game with a clean sheet and took home all three point catapulting them to the top of the league tables.

Tracy Adam’s 11 man Police Unit quickly dismantled the Somerset defense at will running at the Eastern End of the field with the winds at their backs.

Somerset added to their arsenal after acquiring the services of both former Somerset Eagles captains Stevie Burrows and Noel Woods who were not able to withhold their defenses units.

Jonny Talbot opening the scoring in the 29th minute of the first half when he dramatically rose above the his opponents and headed home the ice breaker leaving the Somerset supporters in disarray.

The half ended with both teams entering the dressing room at 0-1 with 45 minutes left in the contest.

Prospect reentered the field and nearly extended their lead with Colin Stewart leaving a trail of carnage on his way to the goal including the keeper to which their sweeper  controversially sat on the ball to prevent it from crossing the line.

Chris “The Cat” Thompson was called to action making a diving save to his left grabbing the ball after the Somerset striker Dwight Basden fired the ball at net.

With fatigue setting and frustration growing Prospect finally settled the issue in the 75 minute when their newly acquired rookie leapt off the bench and scored right footed effort from a cross that left the keeper no chance and was fired into the corner pocket of the goal at the Western End of the field leaving the Somerset outfit hapless in their devours.

This preseason action saw North Village hand Prospect united a 5-2 loss at Bernard’s Park Field.

Aljame Zuille was able to open his tally with his touch of the game.

Tory keeping Prospect in the game with some fire power of his own ending up the North Village goal net.

At the end of the contest North Village were the better team on the day.
