Master’s Knock Out Cup

PHC Zebras vs Prospect United

PHC took on Masters League contenders Prospect United this afternoon at the Southampton Oval.

PHC were determined not to lose to Prospect for a third consecutive time as they did decisively in the league also without the likes of their goal prolific striker Mango Lightbourne and Kenny Mills in the attack.

Prospect were also without the likes of their first Keeper Luellen Simmons as he completed his transfer and can be seen in his new Scotland Rangers outfit at the Ibrox Stadium during the new year window which lead all eyes on Lawrence Scott as he took to suit up in the Knock Out Cup qualifier.

PHC took the early lead with a corner kick crossed into the box which was headed over the line.

Prospect returned the favor minutes later with a long range dipper from striker Colin Stuart.

PHC was accused of a hand ball in the box the was waved off and was able to score with a shot across Scott amidst the confusion.

In the second half Prospect rotated their attack unit and Thompson was able to break through the PHC defence and scored one of the best goals of the game with a daisy cutter into the corner pocket.

With the game headed towards straight penalties in the dying minutes of the game PHC was granted a stroke of luck when a slicing cross was wind guided into the net leaving Lawrence no chance.
