Prospect vs Somerset

Eagles catch lucky breeze as they land in Prospect

Prospect 3 Somerset Eagles 3

Somerset opened the scoring through Stevie Dread in the first half when he was able to break through the West Indian defense and took at shot past the keeper into the roof of the net.

Prospect nearly equalized when Talbot saw his shot shave the edge of the Eagles goal 10 minutes later.

Eagles later doubled their tally with a stroke of luck as they were lucky to catch a freak breeze as midfielder sliced his cross and caught keeper Lawrence Scott off guard and somehow ended up in the back of the net.

Somerset keeper Joseph Moniz returned to action in goal after completing his certification at the Bermuda College for preparations for the Americas Cup tournament in Bermuda 2017.

Tracy Adams controlled the midfield and weathered the rain storm and bad conditions at Prospect field.

Full backs Ruffins and Piper were continuously frustrated as Warren Reid and Dexter Hunt ran circles around Somerset’s defenders.

Prospect rallied back and took the lead as MacDonald Simmons was unable withstand the pressure and Albert Lambert ended up letting in an O.G. as Prospect got themselves in gear.

Sean Dill tried to turn back the hands of time to glory days and breathed a sigh of relief as his team left the field with a share of the spoils.
